After fighting my way through all the “transport” calls from hawkers nearby, I made my way to the bus station. A tourist shuttle to Lovina was going to cost about $30 so I decided to take a beamo (local transport) for $1.50. It was only a 60 kilometer drive but it took 3 ½ hours on a PACKED bus with no AC. The driver was CRAZY and his helper hung outside the door the whole way, throwing people on and off as we reached different destinations and it was no different for me when we got to Lovina, I was thrown off the bus and left scratching my head in confusion as to where I was. But I made it and found my way to a hotel a few steps from the beach.

I woke up early the next mordning to go see dolphins!! We went out on these little fisher boats that sit three and are about as wide as my bum. It was hilarious to watch because any time the dolphins would surface, all the boats (and there were about 50 out) would swarm immediately and the dolphins would disappear. This was what happened for the next couple of hours and despite the fact that my camera’s memory was full (yes, again, typical Jennie) I managed to get a photo and some video.
Just to give you an idea of the boats and how close the dolphins were. You can't see them too well in the photo but they are to the immediate right of the middle boat.
All the guys walk around showing off their bellies.
This one was especially special because of the shirt he's wearing
I spent the rest of the day lounging by the pool and for sunset I found this amazing spot called the Beach House, where they had really good live music once it got dark. The singer was named Matty and I requested Tracy Chapman “Fast Car” because it was listed as one of the songs they did on the request sheet. Anything to get away from the typical Balinese soundtrack of “Hotel California,” “Welcome to my Paradise,” “Girl I want to Make You Sweat” (not sure of the official name on that one but hopefully you know, or maybe hopefully you don’t know, what I’m talking about), and “Land Down Below” by Men at Work. Whether it’s live music or not, those songs were EVERYWHERE I went.
